WWII–Korean War USMC Wool Vandegrift Jacket | Rare Marine Corps Uniform | Size 36

An exceptional United States Marine Corps Vandegrift winter service jacket, dating to the World War II–Korean War era. Often referred to as an “Ike” or Eisenhower jacket for its sharp waist-length silhouette, the Vandegrift is a distinct USMC uniform design named for General Alexander Vandegrift.

Constructed from substantial forest-green wool, the jacket features structured shoulders, broad notched lapels, a fitted waist-length cut, and two oversized pleated chest pockets with buttoned flaps. Buttoned cuff tabs and precise military tailoring further distinguish the design.

Original crimson and forest green corporal chevrons are displayed on both sleeves, identifying the uniform as belonging to a Marine Corps non-commissioned officer. The combination of its preserved insignia, recognizable construction, and historic USMC provenance makes this a particularly compelling piece of mid-century American military history.
